About Us
Mandar Solutions Ltd was born from the long standing, and hugely respected Wood & Douglas Ltd. Tom Bathurst and Matthew Gregson were both integral employees, who saw an opportunity to build something new and exciting from the experience they had gleaned whilst working under the mentorship of Alan Wood.
Based on a seedling idea for a brand new radio tile, Matt and Tom have sourced only the best engineers, buyers, and project managers combined with additional skills from specialist contractors and suppliers to form an elite team. With the team now growing to include sales and CAD engineers, Mandar are now in a position to bring our products to market with a fully skilled, highly competent team in place to carry out research, design, manufacturing, deployment, and support.
Based on the expert team now in place at Mandar Solutions Ltd, we have already managed to secure relationships with customers in the defence, utilities, environmental, and Health Service markets.

Matthew Gregson
Managing Director
Formerly a Director of Wood & Douglas Ltd, Matt brings over 25 years’ experience in design and manufacturing. With an engineering background and management experience in various industries the main focus has always been to understand the customers’ needs, and deliver the best fit solutions.
Thomas Bathurst
Commercial Director
With over 25 years’ experience in running a personally owned technology based businesses, Tom brings a wide range of technical, software, and business management skills, with a strong grounding in wireless solutions through long standing involvement with Wood & Douglas Ltd, and the development of R-DNA Software.
Sharon Bathurst
Operations Director
With over 25 years experience in technical environments, including 15 years in project management Sharon oversees the operations and administration functions of the business ensuring the organisation runs smoothly and efficiently.
Dan Manning
Head of Software & Systems
Dan possesses an outstanding skill set covering Embedded Software, PC Applications, Systems Design, and Communication technologies. Working at Wood & Douglas Ltd for over 13 years with many high profile customers and as a technical contact for some key accounts.
Paul Benham
Head of Design & Engineering
Paul has a wealth of unrivalled experience in RF design, RF Systems Design, Analogue and Digital Hardware design, and EMC. Paul has more than 25 years in RF design, and worked at Wood & Douglas Ltd for 19 years.
Sally Jobling
Purchasing Manager
Sally has worked in a purchasing role for 28 years in the Electronics Sector. 26 years spent at Wood & Douglas as Senior Buyer and more recently with a Contract Manufacturing Company. She has a wealth of knowledge of the electronics industry and purchasing function.
Sue Waknell
Test Manager
With over 30 years’ experience and former Wood & Douglas employee, Sue plays a vital role in managing product testing at Mandar.
John Sullivan
Head of Quality and Design Assurance
John has a background spanning 30 years in the radio telemetry industry ranging from printed circuit board to mechanical design, also bringing experience in quality management.

Technically qualified with years of experience in RF based location, communication, telemetry and control solutions. Sean brings a wealth of experience to ensure you get the right solution for your product or service.
Ray Gathergood
Senior RF Engineer
With over 40 years experience as an electronics engineer, the last 28 years of which were spent as a specialist RF engineer at Wood & Douglas Ltd. Main skills include: design of analogue video circuits, RF amplifiers, filters, receivers & transmitters of all frequencies, up to and including 12GHz.
